Songs of Candlelight & Razorblades (Live) Release Info
So, with just over a month left before the release of Wayne Hussey’s double DVD and audio CD set – Songs Of Candlelight & Razorblades (Live) – scheduled for May 5th, we thought we’d let you hear a free stream from one of the recorded shows. This is Wayne’s inimitable version of George Michael’s ‘Careless Whisper’ recorded on the last night of his tour back in November at the Carnegie in Workington. To hear the track please go to:
Two DVDs and CD Included!
The release will include two DVD’s – DVD 1 will include 2 hours filmed and recorded from Wayne’s Leeds Trinity show on November 26th last year along with an audio-visual version of the studio album ‘Songs Of Candlelight & Razorblades’. The audio-visual’s are films that Wayne has put together for each track on the album. He explains, “Quite often when I’m listening to music I will have the TV on with the sound turned down just to give me a visual whilst listening. It got me to thinking that I could make my own, what I call, screen savers for each track on the album. I’ve collected the films from various sources, mostly recorded on my iPhone and then edited and messed about with them in iMovie. It’s something I really enjoy doing and I think it works pretty well. And I think it makes for a really good extra on the DVD.”
DVD 2 includes, again, a 2 hour show filmed on the last night of the tour at Workington Carnegie on November 27th. The extra’s on this DVD include a 20 minute interview with Wayne, Wayne interviewing Graham (Wayne’s tour manager – stage hand – driver – confidente – fellow Red), and interviews with fans at the Workington show.
There is also a 10 track audio CD with mostly songs, or versions, that aren’t included in the two films including a stunning 20 minute version of Wasteland, a ukelele version of Shelter From The Storm, and a very moving piano led version of All About Eve’s Martha’s Harbour.
Limited Digital Download
Also included with every purchase of the DVD will be a download code-web address whereby you can download, for free, the complete audio from both shows, Leeds & Workington, in either MP3 or CD format. This download will only be available for the first month after the date of release.

Last but not least…

She’ll love it!), and at the Barnyard in Willowbridge in Cape Town on Mon. 11th May before returning back to the UK to play the K9 Band Aid Charity show at the Assembly Rooms in Glastonbury on Saturday 16th May. And all before he returns to his day job and rejoins the Mission to play a handful of UK shows just a few days later. Busy boy.
